Communications Major, BA

Whether you want to break into the news industry, create compelling social media content, make documentary films or features, or own your own public relations firm, the BA in Communications on the Pleasantville campus will provide you with the real-world, practical skills you need to achieve a successful career as a communicator. The explosion in electronic media has created a robust job market for communications professionals in a broad variety of industries.  The major offers students a great deal of flexibility to design a course of study according to their interests.

Major Requirements (42 Credits)

Students who wish to complete a minor in Journalism or Public Relations must fulfill minor requirements under Open Electives.  Overlap with major is not permitted.  Students must complete MCA 393 Intern Program I as a major requirement. Majors may complete up to an additional 3 credits of MCA 393 Intern Program I as Open Electives. 

Open Electives (23-34 Credits)
