Liberal Studies Major, BA

Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary program of 120 credits. This degree allows for students to create their own program by having the option of choosing 2-3 concentration areas to focus on. Students have the flexibility to pursue their degree on a full time or part time basis. There are also two modalities, on campus for students who want to design their own baccalaureate degree path, or online which is specifically geared towards working professionals who have completed a minimum of one year of transfer credits. 

The potential to apply Prior Learning credits towards their degree makes Liberal Studies a particularly appealing program for non-traditional students with professional work experience. Up to 36 Experiential Learning credits may be applied toward the degree. Students interested in applying such credits take INT 196B Prior Learning Assessment (2 credits) as part of their Open Elective credits.

When choosing a concentration, the student works closely with an adviser in order to construct a meaningful and coherent educational experience. Students can customize their academic plan to align with their career goals.
