Health Science and Health Informatics, BS/MS

In this program, students complete both the Bachelor of Science in Health Science and the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) within five years.  The undergraduate degree requirements can be met on both the New York City and Pleasantville campuses. The graduate courses in Health Informatics will be completed on the New York City campus or Online.

Students will get a strong foundation in health science including an understanding of the role of social determinants of health that contribute to health disparities and how to mitigate these effects through planning and programming. Health informatics is the intersection of healthcare, data, and technology and is the application of data and technology to improve process and clinical outcomes as well as patient care. Courses are delivered from the College of Health Professions and the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, providing you the opportunity to collaborate with master’s level Seidenberg students and other cohorts in the Health Informatics program.

Students are encouraged to declare their interest in the dual degree program when they are in the sophomore year of their BS in Health Science and then apply for acceptance into the joint degree program with the MSHI during their junior (third year).
