Campus: NYC, Westchester

Combined Degree Programs

The Accounting Department offers combined BBA and MBA degree programs in Public Accounting for highly qualified students who seek to prepare for careers in public accounting while earning both the BBA and MBA in an accelerated timeframe. The program is registered with the New York State Education Department as meeting the 150-credit educational requirements for CPA licensure and also satisfies the educational requirements for admission to the CPA examination in most other jurisdictions. Full-time students can complete the program requirements in five years, or in four years with additional summer study.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the Combined BBA/MBA program begins at the undergraduate level. Highly qualified students may be admitted conditionally to the program directly from high school. For direct admission, applicants must have a minimum high school average of 90 percent and a combined SAT score of 1150 or an equivalent ACT score.

Students seeking to transfer into the program from another college or university must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 at their previous institution, in addition to meeting all other admission requirements. Transfer students are required to complete at least 32 undergraduate residency credits at Pace University.

Continuing Pace students who wish to change their major to one of the Combined Programs must have completed at least 30 credits at Pace with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20.

Admission to the graduate portion of the program requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 in all undergraduate coursework completed at Pace, a minimum 3.00 GPA in Pace Accounting courses, and a score of 520 or higher on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Students who graduate from the BBA program with an overall Pace GPA of 3.20 or higher and an Accounting GPA of 3.20 or higher are exempt from the GMAT requirement.

Applicants must satisfy the admission requirements of the specific graduate program to which they are applying and maintain strong academic standing at the undergraduate level to remain eligible for the combined program. Submission of the Combined Degree Graduate Application form, a personal statement, and one letter of reference is required. The application fee is waived.

Conferring of Degrees

Students will be awarded both the BBA and MBA upon completion of the Combined Program. A student who does not finish the MBA requirements may apply any graduate credits earned toward completion of a BBA program.
