The undergraduate four-year nursing program (RN-4) is a full-time, 123-credit bachelor of science program on the Pleasantville campus. Students begin their first nursing course (NURS 110: Essentials of Professional Nursing) in the second semester of freshman year and their first simulated clinical course (NURS 202: Fundamentals of Nursing Practice) in the fall of sophomore year. The first off-campus, hospital-based clinical course (NURS 360: Medical & Surgical Nursing: Foundations) is taken in the second semester of sophomore year.
DEGREE COMPLETION CRITERIA
RN-4 students must meet the following criteria in order to complete their baccalaureate degree:
- Maintain a Cumulative Quality Point Average (CQPA) of 2.75 or higher throughout the program
- Pass all prerequisite science (BIO 152, BIO 153, BIO 254, CHE 113) and required core (MAT 134, PSY 112) courses with a B- or higher
- Pass all nursing major core courses (including approved nursing electives) with a B- or higher
- Maintain health compliance (health assessment, immunizations, CPR, criminal background check, drug screening, and additional requirements as advised) for clinical eligibility
