If you have a passion for inspiring creativity in young minds and education, the MST in Teaching Visual Arts is for you. This 34-credit program can be completed in under two years and meets all NYS Education Department’s requirements to teach visual arts to grades Pre-K through 12th grade.
Immerse yourself in coursework with renowned faculty and clinically rich field experience in the visual arts. Refine your own artistic skills as you learn how to identify a creative spark within your students. Study sound theories and effective practices for teaching the Visual Arts so that all children can learn self-expression about themselves and others in the world around them. Teaching practices are expanded to include inclusive classroom settings and learning styles.
This program will prepare you to take on the many roles in teaching visual arts, including Visual Arts Teachers.
