LWT 312  Export/import Letters of Credit  (1 credits)  

A review of Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits, including latest changes and terms of sale and delivery Incoterms 2000.

Prerequisites: ECO 260, MAR 250, MGT 250, course work in Import Regulations and Documentation and/or Export Documentation, and permission of chairperson of Modern Languages.
LWT 313  Import Regulations and Documentation  (2 credits)  

A study of the purpose, preparation and use of documents required to import and transport products and meet US Customs "reasonable care" standards.

LWT 314  Ocean Shipping and Inland Transportion  (2 credits)  

This course analyzes the regulatory, documentary, and operational aspects of international ocean and inland domestic freight business. The employment of resources in both domestic and international markets along with the development of markets and competitive information are covered.

This course focuses on the US Customs and trade laws and their application to imports. Emphasis will be on a detailed analysis of the Customs Valuation Statute including various bases of appraisement, commissions' foreign offices, etc.
