Business Policy (BP)
Explores the role of general managers for business organizations in determining and achieving objectives and formulating and implementing corporate and business strategy. Provides comprehensive frameworks for identifying, evaluating, and recommending how a firm structures its relationship to its environment to create value and achieve performance. Recognizes that successful managers not only determine what organizations should do, but also focus on and motivate behavior for doing it. Integrates the knowledge, skills, and attitudes acquired in other courses and in prior experience to develop practical general management policies. Includes a significant project or paper. Satisfies the Business Policy requirement in the MBA program. No waivers granted or proficiency examinations offered for this course. Summer semester sections scheduled to meet one night each week for twelve weeks.
